The Sawbridgeworth Local History Society had a very successful two days in High Wych on 6 and 7 September at the Scarecrow Festival. We sold a number of books, enrolled new members and had a variety of conversations, including about the Space Shuttle in 1983, our airfield, local High Wych families, and the local postal service, all prompted by our books and photographs. Our gazebo also survived the gusty winds. Congratulations as always to the organisers and the ingenious ‘scarecrow’ makers of High Wych!
